From: "SHEILA" I am a single mom with two sons. My oldest is grown, married to a wonderful God-chosen woman, and lives out-of-state. My youngest is 15 and is precious, though a little lazy. Lately he has been having problems with self-esteeem. He's upset because he's shorter than most of his friends and complains about this quite a bit. He is in high school, a sophomore, and is having a horrible time with one of his subjects, Chemistry. So far he has failing grades and try as he might, he reads and reads and reads again the book but can't comprehend things. I know he is not lazy when it comes to school. He loves school because he can interact with his friends (and he has some very decent, good friends). I have tried in vain to get him to get help from his friends in this subject but he refuses to. I think that he may think that his friends may see him as being dumb or talk about him. I know this is long, but I love my children, and I want so much for my son to see what Jesus can do in his life. My neighbor, myself, and my mom have begun to pray that Jesus will open his understanding to this subject. I now encourage my son to do the best he can and to began praying that Jesus will work a miracle in his life and open his understanding to this subject. I know Chemistry is no easy subject and I can't help him with homework because I don't know anything about Chemistry. However, Christ knows all things because he created all things even those who know about Chemistry like the back of their hand. I have always thanked God for children who recognize him and lift him up. I applaud all teens who choose positives in their lives like encouraging others, putting their talents to use, and take the time to recognize Him who has put the desire in their hearts to become such well-developed young people. I desire my son to see that God loves him and will help him. Please pray for my son not so much that his understanding is opened up to Chemistry but more that his understanding is opened up to knowing Christ personally and experiencing first-hand what God can do. The Lord has put it on my heart to open it as a Christian Men’s home there featuring on-the-job training. However, I cannot do this alone. A few months ago I sent you all a request to pray for my son-in-law, daughter and two granddaughters. My son-in-law owned his own trucking business but after a series of events he had to sell out. He was VERY stressed, drinking and taking it out on the family. He would go to church with us but afterwards would mock what the pastor said. My daughter kept quiet (for fear of making him madder) but I would defend the pastor in a gentle way. Anyway, we kept praying and now he is working for someone else. He is happier because he doesn’t have the pressures of owner/operator. He is making more money and says it is the best job he has ever had. My granddaughters both went to the Women of Faith conference with my daughter and I here in Denver. They both rededicated their lives to the Lord. Now my prayer requests: My son-in-law is driving a huge truck nationwide (I mean huge, a lot longer than a normal semi-truck) please pray for his safety and to be accident free. My granddaughters are both in high school and they started this week. Please pray for them to be successful and to be connected with Christian friends. My daughter is spiritually healthy but she needs prayer for her health. As concerns me, I have started eating healthily. I need to lose 50+ pounds. I realize now that I was sedating myself while going thru cancer, the death of my finance, etc. I was never overweight until five years ago. I know I can do this but I need prayer. God revealed to me that my career, marriage matter and ministry were interrelated and that in each case, He would open wonderful ways for me. But ever since I started obeying God's words to me, I'm experiencing a lot of Satanic hindrance and obstacles in each matter, such that I've not got a complete breakthrough in any one of these. Some arrangements have been made for all three which have to reach completion. God has promised me two career positions, one of which was occupied by a person using wrong means. That person has to be driven out from there, as per God's revelation to me. The other position is to be newly created. The invitation to occupy both these positions has to come to me from the Director of the Insitution through my fiancé. We are to be married when these matters are settled.
