Over 30-thousand residents in northeastern Arizona have been forced from their homes. Officials say over 800 claims have been filed with insurance companies, worth an estimated $30 million. Another thousand firefighters are expected to be on the fire lines today, bringing to nearly six thousand the number of personnel working the blaze. Officials say they estimate 430 homes and buildings destroyed by the fire, but say they also saved over three-thousand homes. The really good news is that there have been no deaths and only minor injuries by those fighting the fire. From: "PRAYER ALERT: RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION" Subject: PRAYER REQUEST For years, even though the constitution of the United States of American clearly states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech,..." The United States has made many laws restricted the practice of religion by trying to make a distinction between the government and the people, not recognizing that the people are the government -- therefore even the government has the right to express freely its religious freedom WITHOUT forcing others to hold the same opinion. Now The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ruled 2 to 1 that the reference to God, which was added to the pledge by Congress in 1954, amounts to an official endorsement of monotheism. Therefore they say that, "The Pledge of Allegiance, recited by millions of American children at the start of each school day, is unconstitutional because it describes the United States as 'one Nation, under God'" If the ruling is allowed to stand, schoolchildren could no longer recite the pledge, at least in the nine western states covered by the court. The United States of America was sanctuary to those who wanted religious freedom and yet now it is being twisted to be a country free from religion and becoming a restrictive, oppressive state. The Constitution, Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights all contain reference to God. (To be fair, it does not mention which God) The Declaration of Independence states, "When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation." The government of the United States is "of the people, by the people and for the people." The government is the people and as people we do not leave our freedoms of religion and speech at the door when we enter a government building, a post office, a school, a national park, of any location in the United States of America. It is not the courts place to decide what is said by one citizen to another about their religious, political or social beliefs. On the other hand if someone is forced to do or prohibited from doing what their conscience dictates, then the law should fully protect us. An American (including Californian atheist, Michael Newdow and his daughter) who wishes to leave out the words "under God" or not even say the pledge of allegiance may do so, an American who does not wish to pray may do so. Many Americans are becoming bad tempered, whiny people who do not want freedom of speech but only want to hear what they themselves believe to be right. Christian, Muslim or Jew; Democrat, Libertarian or Republican; Male, Female or undecided; government representative or not -- All Americans and those within the borders of the United States of America should be free to believe, pray, speak and live in accordance to their conscience as long as the rights of others are not prohibited. Pray for laws regarding the restriction or prohibition of religious freedom will begin to be repealed or you will find yourself arrested for carrying a Bible, Koran or some other religious item. There are issues of poverty, hunger, disease, hate, drugs and violence to be attended to. Pray for the courts to wake up and bring justice to our country and not petty lawsuits and arguments. Pray America and the World. Christians repent and cry out to God for forgiveness and deliverance. What Next? Do we ban patriotic hymns such as God Bless America and America the Beautiful, and even the national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner, all of which refer to God? Palestinian leadership and militant muslims have done nothing but commit terrorist acts and condemn Israel. In addition the internet is filling up with silly propaganda denying the truth that Israel was the first nation that truly united the area now occupied again by the Jewish people; ridiculous notions that Israel before and after it was divided into the Northern and Southern states were not Jewish; that Judeans and Jews (By the way, both English terms and therefore modern) are in some way not the descendants of Abraham and the people of the covenant; there is now even a movement to claim that Jesus was not a Jew but a Judean (That is like saying that President Bush is not an American but a Texan.) All religious and cultural issues aside, the split between muslims who embrace terrorism and those who do not is becoming a blurred line making it dangerous for all to know who is hiding violent hatred behind the mask of their religion. Pray that in the coming days all will have the chance to hear of Jesus and find real peace. Peace that passes all understanding and is not a peace the world can give. There is no fear for those who love God. Pray for strength and comfort to those who have lost and will lose loved ones in the coming battles. Pray for the peace of Israel, for the Jews to truly proclaim, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" Pray for the nations for they will face more than drought, pestilence, famine and sword. Prepare your hearts! Be faithful and share the hope that is in you with others! From: "CHARLES AND INA" Subject: PRAYER REQUEST Hi, It's been a hard 10 years. First thing we adopted 2 boys (Ina was adopted herself) so we thought this would be great. For the most part it was. The younger of the boys started having real problems around 8-9 years. He became very violent and mutilated animals and we would get confronted by him in the middle of the night sometimes with very sharp objects etc. too many thing to tell all. We took him to healing services he only mocked God. He was in and out of various mental hospitals and we had to refinance our almost paid for home to get the medical attention he needed and found that the state hadn't been honest when we adopted these boys. They had a horrendous past with lots of drugs, mental backgrounds of father mother and grandparents. The parent lost all three of there sons to the state and we ended up losing our home after which we unadopted him after 9-10 years of loving him we found he couldn't love us back. By the way his brother is good he is a wonderful kid I mean adult who is almost 23 years old. We had lots of health problems my husband has had 4 back surgeries in 31/2 years at over 70,000.00 for the first three and 90,000.00 for the last one which was done in Nov. 2002. He had 2 of those surgeries in 1 year and missed 5 month of work. Now I have to get some surgeries done on both my feet and won't be able to work for 4-5 weeks and that is another loss of $1,000.00, and about 10,000.00 more in medical expenses. We are very discouraged and still know God is in control. I'm not as nervous about my surgery but I am about the bills. We still have back winter heat bills, which are over 800.00 and need more fuel to keep hot water in the home to and to dry clothes. We are a family of 5 total and will be down to one income again with still big and bigger to be medical expenses. Please pray that God will meet these needs so I can get the surgery needed so I can continue to help my husband who had 3 incisions and fusion and grafting done and is still healing to see a light at the end of the tunnel. We are all saved but are hurting very badly and really need prayers for God to meet those needs we have. The pain and hurt is so hard to bare and not having a home again to own after all the almost 29 years of marriage and no really encouraging feeling ahead of us!! Please pray for us!!!! Crime has fallen 66% and there have been NO violent crimes this year to date. We are asking the City of Phoenix to deny this zoning change. There is a Comfort Inn which shares their parking lot with the restaurant who also do not want the change. Even the restaurant staff do not want the change. Just at the point that my husband has finally begun to go to church and has given his life to the Lord, he still suffers from a lot of anger and lack of faith. When he gets into one of his dark moods, he pushes me away, giving me the "silent treatment"and when he does speak, he is critical and mean-spirited during those times. It's much better than it used to be and he had been a lot more positive, but just at the time he joined our church, it's like he's been under attack. Pray that he will cease from anger and learn to trust God in bad times as well as good. I love him dearly. He loves me, too, but he does not always love himself and that is when he turns away from me. We also have been awaiting healing in our finances as we have been in a very dire situation. From: "PRAYER ALERT: USA" Subject: PRAYER REQUEST A Judge in Ebenburg Pennsylvania, USA ruled that public interest overrides religious objections continuing the trend of controlling religion in the United States. The Amish were fined for using reflective tape and lanterns on the back of their buggies instead of the orange trangles that the state mandated for all slow moving vehicles. Of course, bicycles and pedestrians are supposedly safe with reflective tape, but this unconstitutional ruling is evidence that the government can control the practice of religious beliefs. 27 members of the Amish community were given $95 fines each for not putting the orange triangle on their buggies. This is as offensive as forcing Jews and Christians to put a swastikas on their bumper or Democrats being told to put a "Bush In 2004" bumper sticker on their vehicles. The Swartzentruber Amish hold that the garish symbols violate their beliefs and their lawyer will appeal. Although protecting the safety of citizens is important, but not only do the amish use reflective tape and lanterns but the few roads they use are marked with signs warning motorists of the buggies. The issue is motorists paying attention. Many motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrian and even train/auto accidents occur because of failure of motorists to pay attention and follow the speed limit. This is just another ruling against religious believes that have been happening more frequently in the USA. Two and a half weeks ago Dee was told he only had 2 to 4 weeks to live. And I must admit when I saw him this weekend I was worried. Each day and night I would pray, "Lord, just let him make it through one more day" as we waited to hear from the doctors in Delaware who said they may possible be able to give Noah a liver transplant. Noah's medical records were sent to the doctors in Delaware on Friday. They received them on Saturday. Sunday morning while we were on our way to church Dr. Dun called and said he was pretty sure they could do the transplant on Noah but he wanted the radiologist to look at the films first before he had them come do Delaware. Today the doctor called and said yes they could do the transplant. Of course they can not give a 100% guarantee. Only God can do that. And they did say they don't know if they will be able to find the one spot that is "floating" in his body attached to a lymph-node or something like that. They will not know that until they get in there and remove Noah's liver, at which point they may or may not find that extra spot. Noah's father Joe is giving part of his liver. I have already said if there is some problem with Joe doing it then I will give part of my liver. At this point I don't see any problem with Joe being the one to donate. Prayer requests are:

She's a married young mother in her early 20's, with one young child and another on the way. (She's also the step-mother to two adolescent children, one of which is slightly disabled.)
